DURATION:  1 day/ 8.5 hours

PREREQUISITES: Body Massage Diploma, Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology, or anyone working with teenagers in a sports environment

This course is intended for anyone who has already undertaken basic body massage/sports massage  training and wishes to work with teenagers, or anyone working with  teens in a sports environment:-

  • to further their knowledge of common sports injuries that affect teens which may lead them to book a treatment, with suggestions of self help measures
  • to introduce them to teen sports injuries prior to undertaking a sports massage course     or working with teens in a sports environment
  • to gain further insight into teen sports injuries from a more medical viewpoint after undertaking massage training



  • the benefits of teenagers playing sports
  • how puberty can influence sports injuries
  • how to reduce the risk of injuries in teens and deal with them when they happen
  • to extend your knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of teens
  • to develop your knowledge of the common sports injuries that teens may present with,    to know the causes and risk factors and to recognise the symptoms
  • to identify preventive and rehabilitative self help measures that you can suggest to clients
  • to offer massage treatments with a more medical/sports focus


Theory assessment only – The overall pass mark must exceed 70%.
