Our team bring you 10 ways to make your life easier

Time your Christmas for later so you only need a few bits of cheese and biscuits for your supper

If you can’t think of presents for your nearest and dearest, or you are just too busy in the run up to Christmas, instead of buying ‘for the sake of it’, gift them IOUs to redeem in the year. “Weekend away”, “Night at the theatre”, “Foot rub”, “Night at the movies” etc

Money tight? Agree a mutual ‘present pause’. You can substitute something you can do together meaningfully. If it’s family, agree a ‘Secret Santa’ which also works for friend groups too. Or go our for a breakfast/lunch or dinner together

Christmas Day cooking too stressful? Don’t like ‘traditional’ fare? Not enough help? Feeling stressed instead of Christmassy? Buy in a favourite supermarket ‘takeaway’ of your choice so you can simply chill or really enjoy time with loved ones.

If you really don’t enjoy getting together with certain people? Don’t, spend your time with those you appreciate.

The Christmas Season is 12 days long. Don’t try to cram everything in on one or two days. There is a reason our ancestors focused on 12 days of rest, fun and anticipation for the New Year and beyond.

Have a laugh and don’t take everything so seriously or feel it has to be perfect.

Enjoy the time with family and friends to catch up and have a break from everyday life

Have a mindful time reflecting on what you have and not what you don’t have.

Take care of self, be kind and most of all….. breathe!
