It’s Spring and, amidst all the turmoil, it is time to take another look at what the Wheel of Life can tell us about ourselves.
Knowing where we are, amidst all the uncertainty that may surround us, gives us the vision and security to navigate the best way ahead by building our own intentions for a soul-led inspired life, putting our spirit at the heart of all we do.

I love using the wheel of life to get in tune with where my life is at, it really plugs into your authenticity and is a values-driven tool. Are you ready to review your life and set some super fresh, life affirming ways of showing up in the world? The wheel is such an easy way of helping you identify what is important in your life and checking out if you are fulfilling your values and vision in each area.
Rate how you feel you are doing in each area on a percentage scale from 0 to 100% using the lines and then join the dots between each sector. 100% is rocking and ten percent is screaming for improvement. The big question is: how equal or wobbly is your wheel!? Is there a big disparity between different areas of your life with some working well and others not at all? Or do you have a steady ride with a score of 50% in each area? This suggests you might be living at 50% of your potential and maybe it’s time to jump out of your comfort zone. I have some free in-depth questions you can ask yourself and a print out of the more traditional style wheel in the resources section of my website www.smartfoundations.co.uk but for now, looking at the segments, what has come up for you?
Any shocks on there? Maybe some higher or lower areas than you expected? Our values are mostly visible to us and only we know if you are living them. Recently, I heard Michelle Obama say ‘we didn’t spoil our kids because they didn’t deserve it just because we lived in the White House, it’s against our values we’d act the same in any house and didn’t act any different even living in the White House.’ It’s all about getting true with yourself and making your ‘YES’ a sacred YES.
The last two years have taught us life is precious and precarious, you only have one life, so if in some areas your sacred Yes is not shining through – change it.
The way to do this is to take time to meditate and reflect honestly on those areas that are not in alignment with your values and your sacred Yes. Go gently with yourself because it takes courage to be vulnerable, to say no or leave a situation that just doesn’t support us anymore. We can get lost in our busy lives and lose sight of what’s most precious to us – we all do – but it only takes a second to breathe back to the power in you and make choices from that space.
Here are the most essential questions to ask about your wheel:
- Which areas are most important to me and how can I make changes to improve those areas
- What changes can I make in the next three months in two or three of these areas to be living the life I was born to live.

It can feel a bit overwhelming when we first work with the wheel. It is easier to see it as a tool of spiritual illumination, highlighting how you can live a happier life that is more in alignment with your dreams. One thing that can help is to remember back to some of those childhood dreams or imagine yourself talking about your desired life story as if it’s already happened simply to get into the feeling of success and love in your life. Try to bring a sense of playfulness to what you are creating and dream big for your ‘Future’ Here and Now. I’ve created a visualisation to help you do that, click below
