Meeting Life with A Compassionate Open Heart

To open up to the spiritual nature of our being and centre our awareness to become present in our heart, we simply relax with the breath, and bring the kindness of a smile into our body, our heart, our eyes and our smile.  This month’s meditation is all about bringing love and kindness to all of the parts of ourselves.

It also looks at making small changes for boosting our immunity and regulating our moods with our mindset, nutrition, exercise or relaxation practices to give us a deeper sense of well-being.  We can commit whole heartedly to finally writing that book, changing our career, leaving an unfulfilling relationship or to “be the change you want to see in the world.” As Gandhi advised.

We always have a choice in how we respond and cultivating deep relaxation will help us respond with self-love amid the challenges ahead.  Whatever way you choose to empower your life, make sure there is plenty of relaxation in it, as an overstretched nervous system literally moves us away from the empowerment of heart centred living.

These are the foundation of good physical, mental and emotional well-being which enables us to align to our body as an act of self-love freeing us from dysfunctional behaviours.  Maybe you want too much food or not enough or compulsively exercise or don’t exercise at all; maybe we cut ourselves off from support, are a perfectionist or grasp at addictive behaviours.  Whatever it is when we connect in nature, relaxation, prayer or meditation we quiet the mind and open to our heart and the Presence of unconditional love.

It’s about moving from survival thinking to creating and embodying a faith in personal and higher power to transform our reality, healing the body and awakening the soul.  It is not enough we just survive riding the waves of the primitive stress response; it is time to activate and embody the feelings of love and kindness that fire our natural opiates like oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine to bring balance to our heart and mind.

Following our heart’s intuitive guidance naturally moves us away from fear-based thinking and softens our energy, raising our vibration so we feel lighter which naturally brings our physical, mental and emotional systems into balance, to create more heart centred living, demonstrated by a compassionate care for the well-being of ourselves, others and our planet.

I hope you enjoy your meditation and bringing more love and kindness into your life.

Until the next time, let the miraculous lens of self-love guide your journey this month.
