Our Manual Lymphatic Drainage Pre and Post Surgery Massage is specifically created to provide a safe, effective, complementary, and therapeutic treatment following cosmetic/surgical procedures. You can take the practical day at one of our many venues on offer, with additional online element, which you can do at home at your own pace, with full tutor support which also saves the extra expense of you returning to the venue for an extra day allowing us to offer this course for around 50% less than other schools offering something similar.
There is an ever-increasing demand for the provision of Lymphatic Drainage practitioners who specialise in optimising the healing and care of clients during their post-surgical recovery. Lymphatic Drainage is highly recommended and is encouraged by the surgical consultant and/or health care provider to enhance and support the recovery of the patient.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage for post-operative care will help to reduce swelling and bruising and improve circulation. It will accelerate the healing process and help to reduce scar tissue.
The MLD Pre & Post Op course is for those who want to work on clients who are recovering after sugery.
The MLD Pre & Post Op course, is based on the Godoy & Godoy technique. It works in a linear manner towards the lymph nodes using a light lotion or oil and will guide you in choosing the correct technique and/or position post surgery.
Our MLD Pre & Post Op course is more advanced and gives you more detail on the different types of surgery and how we can work with the client depending on where they had their surgery/incision and also look at how to work with scar tissue and the different techniques involved, to give you enough confidence and knowledge to feel ready to work with post op clients.
Course Entry Requirements
You must have a Level 3 in Full Body Massage or a Level 3 in Sports massage to be accepted which is an ITEC, VTCT, BTEC level 3 or similar qualification.
You do not have to complete the online part of this course before you attend the Massage course date.
This can be completed afterwards if you prefer allowing you plenty of time to finish the theory in your own time, as there is a lifetime access to this course on our online platform.
This also means you can revisit the theory online part of this course as many times as you wish for easy reference when needed.

Over the years, MLD has significantly evolved to include a profound understanding of the human body’s systems and structures. Our course delves into these intricate relationships in combination with manual lymphatic drainage.
It focuses on the lymphatic system, skin, circulatory system, and muscular system and their significant role in MLD pre and post-op care.
We aim to establish a strong foundation for effective treatment and care for both practitioners and their clients.
This advanced course equips practitioners with the knowledge and skills to provide quality support to clients undergoing pre- and post-operative surgery.
Highlights include learning about the lymphatic system, the skin and circulatory system, lymphedema and surgery, conditions and treatments, wound healing, treating scars, recovery, fajas, compression therapy, and setting up for treatment.
At the end of the course, we offer a free downloadable MLD Business Pack that includes consultation forms, lymphatic healing herbal tea recipes, dietary recommendations, a client information pack, and a few hidden surprises.
The online part of the course will be yours to start in your own time with your own tutor to guide you every step of the way.
Course Assessment – There are:
7 modules to complete and 7 accompanying videos for the online element of the course.
At the end of each lesson, there is a multiple-choice test to complete.
Certificate on Completion:
Once you have completed your assessments, you will be awarded an accredited certificate.
The Practical Part of the Course is held at one of our many popular venues:
You will be guided through the practical day by your tutor, in a small group, with lots of individual attention.
The practical 1-day training covers:
•Understanding the Concept, Origin and Development of Lymphatic Drainage: including an overview of how manual lymphatic drainage works on the underlying structures.
• Working with Post Op Patients: including consultation guidelines, contraindications to treatment, possible risks, benefits to treatment, guidelines and best practices.
• Lymphatic Drainage Massage: including an overview of Manual Lymphatic Drainage for pre/post-operative surgical care, massage techniques, movements and directions for the treatment of fibrosis and scar tissue, positioning of the client and therapist, and the full body MLD Post Op Massage routine.
Just 6 students per class offering one to one attention.
Introduction to the use of additional tools and further CPD techniques to enhance effectiveness of the post-operative care.
• Assessment: including feedback and a Q&A session.
