Description
The three hour-long workshops of this course demonstrate routines on how to effectively self-massage the different parts of the body. Although designed in a lockdown context to substitute the absence of massage with a trained therapist, the techniques will be useful and valuable tools for self-care, relaxation and bodily engagement in any situation. The routines are developed from principles of Raynor Naturopathic Massage and Japanese Acupressure, both of which Nick, the course facilitator, is trained and accredited to provide as a therapist. Each routine begins at a specific ‘anchor point’ from the Raynor Massage tradition and works the closely connected areas. Throughout the workshops there are also added elements of mindfulness practice to allow for greater bodily engagement through directed focus and greater relaxation through breathwork.
Workshop 1 – Scalp, Face, Neck and Shoulders
Workshop 2 – Hand, Arm and Upper Torso
Workshop 3 – Feet, Legs and Lower Torso
£10 per workshop
The three workshops are scheduled weekly with each workshop taking place on a different day. You will also be provided with a worksheet of all techniques covered after the workshop.
Completion of the course relies on completing all three workshops.
