Feisal Umar, director of the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy International shares a waist-shrinking case study from his clients. As a trained clinical hypnotherapist, I have seen first-hand the profound impact that hypnotherapy can have on people’s lives. One technique that I found particularly powerful is Parts Therapy.

Parts Therapy is a technique used in hypnotherapy that aims to identify and resolve inner conflicts that may be causing emotional or behavioural issues for a person. This approach is based on the concept that people have multiple parts within them, and these parts can sometimes have conflicting desires or beliefs that lead to emotional or behavioural challenges. To demonstrate the power of this technique, I would like toshare a case study with you.

Client Background

Kate came to me seeking help with her uncontrollable cravings for chocolate cakebefore bedtime. She was struggling to maintain her ideal weight and was feeling overwhelmed and anxious due to her eating habits.

Issue

Kate’s cravings for the chocolate cake were causing her to gain weight, and this was affecting her well-being. She was not able to control her emotional eating habits and would often resort to binge eating for comfort.

The Process

Using Parts Therapy, we were able to explore the root cause of Kate’s cravings and identify the part of herself that was seeking to fill the void after her mother’s passing. Kate had been her mother’s caregiver for over four years and had given up her job during this time. Her mother had been critical of her, which had added to the stress of her caregiving duties. This led Kate to turn to emotional and binge eating for comfort.

In trance, Kate expressed a desire to connect with the part of herself that wanted to behealthy and maintain her ideal weight. Through this technique, we facilitated communication between these two parts and were able to negotiate a resolution that served both their emotional needs and her desire for health and wellness.

Outcome

As a result of the Parts Therapy process, Kate was able to establish a new, healthier eating pattern which she called “mindful eating”; She also started a regular exercise routine to reduce her weight. Through the process of Parts Therapy, Kate gained insight into the conflicting desires and beliefs that had been driving her emotional eating behaviour. By working with these different parts of herself, she found a resolution that served both her emotional needs and her desire for health and wellness.

Conclusion

Through Parts Therapy, Kate was able to find a solution to her emotional eating habitsthat was both satisfying to her emotional needs and good for her physical health. This case study demonstrates the power of Parts Therapy in identifying and resolving inner conflicts that may be causing emotional or behavioural issues for a person.
