Sanctuary for victims of domestic abuse:

Connecting for Wellness and Support

My name is Jutheanne. As well as being one of ThinkTree’s course providers, I am also a Mental Health and Welfare Officer for “Kanlungan”, a charity dedicated to supporting Filipino and Southeast Asian migrant workers in the UK. Kanlungan is a Tagalog word meaning “sanctuary”.  Our mission is to provide comprehensive assistance to victims of domestic abuse, helping them rebuild their lives with dignity, hope, and resilience.

At Kanlungan, we recognize the profound impact that domestic abuse can have on an individual’s mental and physical health. Our goal is to offer holistic support that addresses not only the immediate safety needs of our clients but also their long-term well-being. To this end, we are reaching out to the compassionate and skilled members of Think Tree to join us in this critical mission.

Kanlungan is committed to providing a safe space for victims of domestic abuse, offering services such as emergency housing, counselling, legal assistance, wellbeing and community support. Our team works tirelessly to ensure that our clients receive the care and resources they need to heal and thrive.

An Invitation to Think Tree Members

We believe that the expertise and dedication of Think Tree members can significantly enhance the support we provide.

We are seeking practitioners who offer wellness therapies, including but not limited to:

Counselling and Psychotherapy: To help clients process their experiences and foster mental resilience.
Mindfulness and Meditation: Techniques to reduce stress and promote emotional stability.
Holistic Therapies: Such as massage, acupuncture, and aromatherapy to support physical and mental well-being.
Movement Therapy like Yoga and Tai Chi: Gentle physical activities to improve health and relaxation.

By collaborating with Think Tree, we aim to create a comprehensive wellness programme that empowers our clients on their journey to recovery.
