Have you ever thought about living and working in Australia? Is the fear of the unknown or the fear of the process getting in the way? At Visa Jobs, we have created an online community that provides all of the information you need to understand the requirements and assess your eligibility to work in Australia.
Why is now the time for professionals to migrate?
There are many attractions for professionals to live and work in Australia. Higher salaries, a modern lifestyle, and increased economic opportunities are key contributors.
There is an ever-growing demand for medical, healthcare and wellbeing professional in Australia. The Australian economy is rapidly growing and the number of skilled workers in the local market simply can’t keep up. Professionals with an education and experience in countries such as the UK, Canada and the USA are always in high demand due to the fact that their qualifications are easily comparable to Australian qualifications and English is the main language. These two factors combined generally means a much smoother transition into the workplace and Australian community.
Why we started Visa Jobs
Visa Jobs was inspired after making the move myself in 2010 from the UK. While this move was definitely worth it, the process was complicated. Finding an employer who would sponsor me was difficult and time-consuming as not all employers offer sponsorship. I managed to find a company to sponsor me only three months before my working holiday visa expired. Once I found the company the process only got harder as I had to gather a large number of documents to lodge the visa. The Australian visa process is complex and there is very little information readily available. Recruitment companies want you to use their services, so only provide the bare minimum of information and this is generally subject to whether or not they can make money from you. I managed to survive the process and soon started my journey towards becoming an Australian citizen.
As an International Recruiter I helped people like me gather documents and find an Australian business to sponsor them. I eventually realised that even though we helped a lot of people, we weren’t helping enough, and we only covered a few popular occupations. Furthermore, unfortunately the recruitment industry only helps candidates who they think could be placed with clients. So we started working on an idea on how to overcome this broken process.
Visa Jobs Started to Help People
In 2017 the Australian government announced that a new employer-sponsored visa would replace the old 457 visa. As a result there was even less information available and even more confusion about the process.
So we started creating Visa Jobs. An online platform designed to help overseas workers migrate to Australia on the Temporary Skilled Shortage (TSS) visa subclass 482. We wanted to create an online platform that provided free access to all of the information required for the TSS visa and we created a self-assessment tool so you can check you eligibility and instantly get your result.
The aim was to create a one-stop shop providing information and connecting you with whoever you needed help from to complete the process. The final stage is developing a job site that is specifically for TSS sponsored jobs which is almost ready. This way overseas workers are able to decide if the TSS visa is right for them and find their dream job. We have formed relationships with Registered Migration agents so if you do need a hand with lodging your visa application they can help at a discounted rate. Most importantly you are in control of the process instead of relying on various companies for guidance.
So what is the TSS Visa?
The TSS visa is an employer sponsored work visa that replaced the 457 visa. It is designed to fill certain skill gaps in the Australian labour market. There are currently 508 occupations (link 1) – https://visajobs.co/tss-visa-help/knowledge-base/what-occupations-are-on-the-skilled-occupations-list-for-the-tss-visa/ that can be sponsored on the TSS visa and they all have different eligibility requirements.
There are a number of documents you will need to gather in order to be eligible for the visa. For most occupations you need to prove you meet the basic requirements for:
• English ability
• Work experience
• Qualifications
• Character and health
If you are eligible and granted a TSS visa you are allowed to migrate to Australia and start working for your sponsoring employer. Like myself you are then on a pathway to Permanent Residency (PR) as long as you meet the PR visa requirements. There are other visas available and pathways to PR however the TSS visa is the most commonly used work visa.

If Australia is appealing to you, take a closer look at the requirements of the TSS visa (link 2) – https://visajobs.co/tss-visa-help/knowledge-base/a-beginners-guide-to-the-temporary-skill-shortage-visa-tss/. Try our free online self-assessment so you can find out instantly if you are eligible. We have also written a number of articles that range from which documents are required, to the cost of school fees for your kids. You can currently get free access to these articles in our TSS Visa Help (link 3) https://visajobs.co/tss-visa-help/ centre.

Once you have done your research and decided it is the right move for you the next step is to start gathering your visa documents. Visa Jobs is a new company. Over the next few months we will have finished developing the full Visa Jobs website and once launched, you will be able to view the job site to see what jobs are available. You will also have the option to become an Advanced Member allowing you to upload your visa documents and have them assessed by a Registered Migration Agent who will ensure you are eligible for the visa before proceeding. Then it’s a case of finding the right job for you, applying, and then starting your dream life in Australia.

So why not check out the Visa Jobs (link 5) https://visajobs.co/ website and start planning your new life.
Good Luck!
