Royal Liverpool Hospital – Linda McCartney Education

As we are all aware the past few years have brought a huge amount of pressure on our beloved NHS. With the lack of Drs and nursing staff to major parts of the NHS the pressure has increased on those in employment, fighting every day to care and support us and our families.
Current figures show a further 50k nurses are required and we have experienced a loss of over 720 doctors over three years. As staff shortages increase, the NHS is desperate for further staff, finance and care for their current working staff.
A few months ago, one of our ThinkTree members and subject matter experts, Dionne Henry, spoke to us about the demand on The Royal Liverpool Hospital where she volunteers and gifts her time as a complementary therapist/practitioner. Her concerns were echoed by those trying to manage the support given to the NHS. Building on these links, our CEO Kush Kumar was invited to discuss and explore how ThinkTree could support the hospital.
Following a few hours of deep discussion with Dionne and her colleague Tom, a plan was set in place and Kush gifted his time to offer some education and support for all staff to enable them to explore traditional ways to help themselves and each other.
Exploring the Art of Indian Head Massage
So, on July 22nd, Kush introduced the traditional Indian Head Massage that he learnt growing up to hospital staff. An incredible success, staff from departments including dental, bloods, admin, management and complementary therapy volunteering turned up.
